To complicate things even more, Berkeley passengers need to be in either Car 2 or 4, just in case the train makes the station stop on the outer of the two main tracks at the station (it has an unusual platform configuration). I and my assistant conductor try to make a point of informing affected passengers of this as we collect their tickets, as well as indicate which direction the proper cars are located.
